Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi, 17, Wins Her First Pro Singles Title at the ITF W35 in Lagos

Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi won the first professional singles title of her career on Sunday, beating Spain's Celia Cervino Ruiz 6-4, 6-2 in the final of the ITF W35 tournament in Lagos, Portugal. The 17-year-old from India, ranked 1038 in the world, came through qualifying and did not drop a set in the main draw.

Maaya started her run by beating the top seed, Justina Mikulskyte, 7-6, 6-1, and then won her quarter-final against China's Jialin Tian 6-2, 6-1. She reached the final after a walkover in the semi-final, where she had been due to play third seed Britt Du Pree of the Netherlands.

The final was a straight-sets win over Cervino Ruiz, who is ranked 587. Maaya took the first set 6-4 and then ran away with the second, 6-2.

It was also a double week in Lagos. Earlier in the week Maaya won the doubles title with Ukraine's Yelyzaveta Kotliar, beating Min Liu of China and Italy's Carlotta Moccia 0-6, 6-2, 10-7 in a match tie-break in the final.

The win is Maaya's first at senior level. She won the ITF J200 junior title in Gladbeck, Germany, in June 2025, and the Lagos result is her biggest so far on the professional circuit.
