India open the five-match T20I leg of the West Indies series at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday, with the first ball scheduled for 7:00 PM IST. India lead the tour after winning the ODI series 2-1, although West Indies chased down 352 in the final ODI at Mullanpur, Shai Hope finishing unbeaten on 162.
The T20I side is led by Shreyas Iyer, with Tilak Varma as vice-captain; Shubman Gill captained the ODI team. Eleven of the 15 players in the squad were part of the side that won Asian Games gold on 3 October: Iyer, Tilak, Ravi Bishnoi, Shivam Dube, Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel, Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Washington Sundar. Nitish Kumar Reddy, Kuldeep Yadav, Mayank Yadav and Prince Yadav complete the squad.
Hope also leads West Indies in the T20Is. His squad includes Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Romario Shepherd, Sherfane Rutherford, Roston Chase, Akeal Hosein, Gudakesh Motie, Keemo Paul and Shamar Joseph.
All five matches start at 7:00 PM IST: the 1st T20I in Lucknow (Tuesday, 6 October), the 2nd at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi (Friday, 9 October), the 3rd at Holkar Stadium in Indore (Sunday, 11 October), the 4th at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad (Wednesday, 14 October) and the 5th at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru (Saturday, 17 October).
