Uruguay beat India 6-1 in an international friendly at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Tuesday, in a match delayed by a thunderstorm.
Darwin Núñez gave Uruguay the lead from the penalty spot in the 12th minute, and Anirudh Thapa levelled for India in the 22nd. Maximiliano Araújo restored Uruguay's lead in the 28th, and Rodrigo Zalazar made it 3-1 in the 53rd. Araújo scored again in the 59th, Juan Manuel Sanabria added the fifth in the 71st, and Rodrigo Aguirre completed the scoring in the 86th.
Thapa's goal was India's only one. It follows a 1-1 draw with Panama in Bengaluru on 26 September and a 4-0 defeat to Brazil at the same Kolkata stadium on Saturday. Uruguay, ranked 20th in the world, are now managed by Diego Forlán.
