India won its second gold of the Asian Games 2026 on September 25, as Suruchi Inder Singh and Kamaljeet took the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team title with a score of 484.6 — a new Asian Record, beating the previous mark of 481.3 set by Uzbekistan earlier this year at the Asian Shooting Championships in New Delhi.
South Korea took silver on 478.0, with Iran third on 415.8. It's India's first-ever Asian Games gold in this specific event, which only debuted at Hangzhou 2022 — where India's pairing of Sarabjot Singh and Divya T.S. had finished with silver.
The win completed a comeback within the Games themselves. Suruchi had finished 26th in the individual women's 10m air pistol qualification, missing the final altogether. Kamaljeet fared little better individually, finishing 9th — one place outside the men's final cut — and then missed a team bronze by finishing 4th in the men's 10m air pistol team event alongside Kedarling Balakrishna and Aakash Bhardwaj.
Paired together in the mixed team event, both shooters found their form when it mattered, posting India's best score of the tournament in the discipline.
The gold takes India to two golds at these Games — alongside the women's cricket team's title — as part of a tally that continues to grow across shooting, athletics, wushu and more.
