Agarkar Completes Term as India Chief Selector; Gambhir Says "History Will Be Kinder to You"

Ajit Agarkar's term as chairman of India's senior men's selection committee ended on 4 October, and he did not seek an extension, according to reports. The BCCI has invited applications for the vacancy on the panel.

Agarkar took charge in July 2023. Head coach Gautam Gambhir paid tribute on social media, pointing to the three ICC trophies won during his tenure and writing: "History will be kinder to you."

The India squad for the New Zealand tour was named two days after his term ended.
